A big part of arguing Pascal’s Wager (aside from the fact that you’re presupposing Christianity to be true if ever there is a god) is the assumption that you have little to lose from it. That’s a stupid idea. 

There is a lot to lose from it. You lose hours praising some nonexistent deity. You lose the capability to understand people from different faiths and backgrounds (truly understand, not condescendingly “understand”). You lose the capability to thank those people who are truly responsible for the everyday blessings of your life, giving credence to the divine intervention of some god. You lose the capability to self-improve, saying that “God will always have a better plan” than you being successful.

Feel free to deceive yourself. Just don’t say that you lose nothing from it.
