The most logical answer we have today is a combination of the Big Bang (which created the Universe as we know it) and Evolution (which made us human beings and the other living things on Earth into what we and they are). These were ideas that were backed up with evidence and modern scientific methods, and ideas that still hold despite scrutiny (and can adapt to fit said scrutiny if necessary).
